Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Main Line Health
Barbara Wadsworth, DNP, MBA, RN, FAAN, FNAP, FACHE, is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Main Line Health, bringing nearly 40 years of healthcare and nursing experience. She joined Main Line Health in 2012 as Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, becoming COO in October 2020. In this role, she oversees hospital and ambulatory operations, ensuring high standards of safe, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care while promoting clinician and patient satisfaction.
Since her arrival, Barbara has championed patient safety, quality, equity, and affordability, leading initiatives like the Performance Excellence 2020 journey, the Epic implementation for nursing staff, and achieving Magnet® status for the system, which was redesignated in 2019. She also oversees the inaugural Clinical Pastoral Education Program and systemwide projects focused on patient satisfaction and care coordination.
Barbara earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Health Systems Leadership from Vanderbilt University and holds certifications as a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Academy of Nursing. She is a 2009 Robert Wood Johnson Executive Nurse Fellow and serves on various boards, including the Montgomery County Board of Health and the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania.
