Strategic Plan

The PA-NWC 2024-2029 Strategic Plan

Venn diagram of the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition's strategic plan showing 1. Bolstering Nursing Workforce Pathways, 2. Reimagining Public Policy Through Data, 3. Embracing Diversity Through Equitable Solutions converging to create 4. Convening Spaces for Sustainable Impact. In 2024, the Pennsylvania Nursing Workforce Coalition (PA-NWC) designed a bold new five-year plan to advance nursing in PA and create a culture of health. We will share best practices and inspire healthcare transformation through our relationships across academia, government, healthcare administration and delivery, community and professional organizations, and non-profit and for-profit companies.

The PA-NWC will lead the state in creating learning communities for nurses and healthcare partners through in-person and virtual opportunities, including conferences, peer-to-peer learning, informal gatherings, and webinars.

The PA-NWC will curate member-centric, place-based content with a robust digital strategy to showcase downloadable toolkits, trainings, and podcasts to maximize reach and impact.

Learn About How We Developed the Strategic Plan

Our Values

  • Collaboration: We build sustainable partnerships by hosting convenings that bring together healthcare, academia, government, non-profit, and for-profit institutions to advance whole system transformation.
  • Diversity: We are committed to improving the diversity of the nursing workforce by sharing solutions to foster more culturally humble care practiced by individuals who are reflective of the population of Pennsylvania.
  • Equity: We elevate the unique and varied needs of individuals and communities to identify and eliminate health disparities in the continuum of care.
  • Care: We engage thought leaders to foster continuous learning and enhance the continuum of care models practiced by the nursing workforce.
  • Adaptability: We are responsive to the dynamic nursing environment by leveraging nursing voices to inform sustainable and innovative programming and advocacy efforts.
